Suggestions for transportation, restaurants, attractions, and conference hotels.
If you won’t be joining us by staying at one of the recommended conference hotels, be sure to check the proximity of your hotel to the conference location, as students often tell us that being close made their experience that much better.
Conference Location
The conference will be held at Otis College of Art & Design, 9045 Lincoln Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
The conference is located in the Academic Building.
Attendees can enter the parking lot on La Tijera Blvd., as shown on the right side of the Goldsmith Campus Map. The parking lot is open and accessible to all. Exiting through the parking lot’s ground floor will lead you to the outside of Ahmanson Hall, the campus’ main building with all the rectangular windows. Walking straight along the path after exiting the parking lot, attendees will pass the triangular grass area (called the Commons) and shortly after, attendees will be able to find the Academic Building where the conference is located.
The official conference hotel, Courtyard Los Angeles LAX/Century Boulevard, is about 2.2 miles from the Otis campus.
The easiest route is to take Lincoln Boulevard from the airport. Follow the signs to Otis College of Art & Design, 9045 Lincoln Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045. See Travel and Directions.
Weather
In November, the average day-time highs are 60-70 degrees and the average evening temperatures range from as low as 50-60 degrees. Meeting rooms may be cool due to air conditioning. While weather is generally pleasant in November, we recommend you bring an umbrella, as showers can appear unexpectedly.
Airport
If it would take you more than eight hours to drive to this conference, ASGA recommends that you consider flying. Top save money, you could fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). There are many more flight choices at LAX and ticket prices are cheaper.
There are other airports, including Santa Monica, Bob Hope, and Burbank, in the area and they may offer more convenient schedules and pricing.
Taxi
There are taxis available at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) but they are expensive and are not convenient. Los Angeles is a huge city and is very spread out. It is recommended that you get a rental car or van.
Uber and Lyft
Both taxi-alternatives are convenient and easy to use. You’ll probably save money by using Uber or Lyft over a taxi.
Rental Car
ASGA recommends that you rent a car while at this conference. You will need transportation to the conference location, restaurants, and LA-area attractions.

Parking
There is no charge to park at the conference location, Otis College of Art & Design, but there will be daily parking charges of $30 at the conference hotel.
